qmail-send Zombie

ho fatto l'emerge di qmail, viene compilato il qmail-1.03 con alcune patch
bisogna lanciare un ebuild per configurare il tutto.
a questo punto sono necessari 2 ln -s su /service.
il demone viene lanciato in /etc/init.d/svscan start.

fin qui tutto ok!

noto che c'è un processo zombie qmail-send ogni tanto.....any help??

qmail-send e' il processo che si interfaccia con gli altri server... non dovrebbe mai essere zombie...

Ora, per il problema dovresti esaminare bene i file di log. Io ci sono diventato quasi matto a risolvere questi problemi su un server finche' ho deciso di rimuovere gli orribili daemontools, e mi sono creato lo script di avvio (usando pero' slackware, quindi creando in stile 'rc.*').

Da allora la vita e' migliorata!!!

Io uso Qmail da un paio di anni in ambiente produttivo senza
grossi problemi. Sicuramente il suggerimento di dare un'occhiata
ai log e' un ottimo suggerimento.

Se vuoi c'e' una nuova guida su www.gentoo.it (Sezione Documentazione/applicazioni) che spiega come installare e
configurare un server Qmail su Gentoo.

I daemontools sono eccezionali.
Ci si mette un po' a capire come funzionano, ma una volta che lo hai capito, ci faresti girare anche la caffettiera.
