Recently my USB eventually stops working after I mount and unmount my USB flash memory stick several times. I took a look in syslog and discovered the following:

Code:

I think this *may* have started when I upgraded to a newer kernel a couple of kernels ago. Any suggestions what might be causing this? This message doesn't say much to me.

Thanks!

Please post the output of emerge --info. Also, does the problem persist if you do not load proprietary drivers?

The only proprietary driver I am using that I know about it ati-drivers (fglrx). I haven't tried without that driver but I've used it since day one and not had problems unless it is a recent upgrade causing it. I've got versoin 8.35.5 installed. I locked it at that level because I felt that when it upgraded to a newer version that it may have broken my ability to suspend to RAM, however downgrading it back to 8.35.5 doesn't seem to have helped so I am going to go ahead and install the latest.
