I haven't tried to use it in a while, but now IceWMCP doesn't work at all.
It seems the py scripts in /usr/lib/icewmcp-3.2 are missing. In fact, the whole directory is missing
Code: | mac@speedyX /usr/bin $ /usr/bin/IceWMCP
python: can't open file '/usr/lib/icewmcp-3.2/IceWMCP.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory
mac@speedyX /usr/bin $ /usr/bin/IceWMCP-Wallpaper
python: can't open file '/usr/lib/icewmcp-3.2/IceWMCPWallpaper.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory
mac@speedyX /usr/bin $ /usr/bin/IceWMCP-PySpool
python: can't open file '/usr/lib/icewmcp-3.2/pyspool.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory
mac@speedyX /usr/bin $ /usr/bin/iceme
python: can't open file '/usr/lib/icewmcp-3.2/IceMe.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory
mac@speedyX /usr/bin $ /usr/bin/icepref
python: can't open file '/usr/lib/icewmcp-3.2/icepref.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory
mac@speedyX /usr/bin $ cd /usr
mac@speedyX /usr $ cd bin
mac@speedyX /usr/bin $ cd icewmcp-3.2
-sh: cd: icewmcp-3.2: No such file or directory
mac@speedyX /usr/bin $ emerge -s icewmcp

It seem that the ebuild does'nt copy needed files to /usr/lib/icewmcp-3.2.
you can manual copy * from the tarball to /usr/lib/icewmcp-3.2,hope this help you. |

Can you specify the location of the files that need to be copied from? I'm pretty sure the tarballs are stored locally - aren't they? |

I can confirm this works. I just copied the tarball from distfiles, extracted it into /home/wrc/icewmcp-3.2 (just to play it safe).
Then as root, I did: Code: | gentoo-audio wrc # cp -a /home/wrc/icewmcp-3.2/ /usr/lib/
gentoo-audio wrc #
gentoo-audio wrc # IceWMCP
/usr/lib/icewmcp-3.2/IceWMCP.py:85: DeprecationWarning: use gtk.UIManager
itemf=ItemFactory(MenuBar, "<main>", ag)
/usr/lib/icewmcp-3.2/IceWMCP_Dialogs.py:113: GtkDeprecationWarning: gtk.TRUE is deprecated, use True instead
self.set_modal(gtk.TRUE)
/usr/lib/icewmcp-3.2/IceWMCP_Dialogs.py:134: GtkDeprecationWarning: gtk.FALSE is deprecated, use False instead
hbox.pack_start(pic, expand=gtk.FALSE)
/usr/lib/icewmcp-3.2/IceWMCP_Dialogs.py:190: GtkDeprecationWarning: gtk.mainloop is deprecated, use gtk.main instead
gtk.mainloop()
/usr/lib/icewmcp-3.2/IceWMCP_Dialogs.py:171: GtkDeprecationWarning: gtk.mainquit is deprecated, use gtk.main_quit instead
gtk.mainquit()
/usr/lib/icewmcp-3.2/IceWMCP.py:604: GtkDeprecationWarning: gtk.mainloop is deprecated, use gtk.main instead
gtk.mainloop()

It now opens and works well, but seems to still be missing a few things I thought were in there. I just did a fresh gentoo intstallation devoted to pro audio, and wanted to try icewm after not messing with it for years, and ran into this. Glad I saw this post.
Can anyone clue us in about these deprecation warnings I got? _________________ Main box- AsRock x370 Gaming K4

I don't know, but should this be a bug report? After a year, the bug still persists (yes, I just re-loaded my entire system and have the same problem) |
