I am trying to get mips installed on my indy however after the kernel boots it prints:
VFS: mounted root (ext2 filesystem)
Freeing unused memory: 144k freed
At this point it just hangs, from the handbook it looks like the next thing to run should be init, however, it stops here.
I am doing a netboot with: ip22-r4k-20050530.img
running hinv gives me:
System IP22
Processor: 133Mhz R4600, with FPU
Primary I-cache: 16k
Primary D-cache: 16k
Memory size: 32 meg (i have eight simms)
Graphics: Indy 8-bit
Audio: Iris Audio Processor
Any ideas? |

Swap the R4600 for a R4400 or R5000? I have a R4600, thus share your pain. Linux/MIPS git has been flaky on these things ever since 2.6.0 was released. Kernel 2.4.* works fine however.
It's likely that IP22 will be dropped eventually, due to bitrot in the current kernels, and an unwillingness from upstream devs (who know more about IP22 than I do) to fix the problems. _________________ Stuart Longland (a.k.a Redhatter, VK4MSL)
