Hi,
I've been using the DRM 3d drivers with gentoo for a long time now, but the newest version in the portage tree won't compile, due to new, different config needs and I don't understand them:
Code: |
!!! ERROR: x11-base/xfree-drm-4.3.0-r6 failed.
!!! Function src_unpack, Line 94, Exitcode 0
!!! Please set at least one video card in VIDEO_CARDS. USE is deprecated. Possible VIDEO_CARDS values are matrox, 3dfx, rage128, radeon, sis, i810, i830, and gamma.
|
Where is this VIDEO_CARDS variable supposed to be set?
thanks!! |

Ok .. I'll add "radeon" to the USE variables and see if that works. |

If anyone tried this and it didn't work (like me)
I did the the following and it worked for me
I added a line
to my make.conf (use your card here [i.e "radeon"] instead, of course)
then I
Code: | emerge --resume xfree-drm |
and that fixed me right up
hope that helps someone _________________ Linux sucks twice as fast and 10 times more reliably, and since you have the source, it's your fault. -Ca1v1n |
