I recently gave an account to a friend who works with ruby on rails, and i kinda wanted to lock it so that he could only view things in his folder so i went around the whole system removing the groups from a lot of stuff. And now i realize that was a poor mistake. As i can't use the su feature any more from a user, and idk if its related but vmware tells me my root password is wrong, when i know it isn't because im logged in via ssh as root already. I'm not sure how much damage I've done but a starting point would be much appreciated. Thanks _________________ When it doubt, fdisk it. |

if you want to restrict him just to his home dir, chroot'ed ssh access would suffice. _________________ 95% of all computer errors occur between chair and keyboard (TM)
