Maybe kind of a niche thing but...
According to http://urbanterror.net we'll be seeing Urban Terror 3 on Friday at 5 EST. It will be including set/defuse the bomb modes and whatnot....check the site for more details. I was just going to see if anyone would be updating the e-build for UT, or if I should go ahead and do that on my own when the time comes.

That's a Quake3 mod, and a very pretty one at that.
300 megs of graphics. I checked out version 2, and I wasn't too impressed. Looks good, but for some reason the feel of it wasn't enough to rip me away from counter-strike. Guess I'll check this version, as soon as some kind soul puts together an ebuild. |

You mean Saturday ...
But, yeah, I've been looking forward to this all week UrT isn't the most realistic of the "realism" mods, but it's the most fun IMO and it's got a great community. And now it's got bomb/defuse! |

Errr...whoops, did I manage to get that a whole day off?
Ah well, still, that means I'll be downloading tonight, aww yeah. See you guys on the server?
As for the above comments, it's a great mod, and considering I bought Q3 for linux at 5 bucks, not bad at all. It's worth giving a try anyway...I hope it's still balanced and all. =d |

Yup, UrT keeps the "fun > realism" attitutude.. I played it for a while now, but quit playing quake recently (too much work )
It has a great community, like gentoo. |

Here's an ebuild:
Code: |
MOD_DESC="total transformation realism based MOD"
MOD_NAME=q3ut3
inherit games games-q3mod
SRC_URI="http://fsk405.org/q3ut3/urbanterror3.zip
ftp://mirror.candidhosting.com/pub/ut/urbanterror3.zip"
HOMEPAGE="http://www.urbanterror.net/"
LICENSE="freedist"
|
Basically just an updated 2.6 ebuild (changed the sources and the mod name). Executable is /usr/games/bin/quake3-q3ut3. And you'll lose your 2.6 config.
3.0 looks pretty slick so far Prepare to be PWNT!! |

im confused, is there an ebuild of quake 3 i can get or do i need to buy the game and run it through wine...
or can i get the mod through ebuild and not have to get two things from portage (game then mod).

you can emerge the quake3 ebuild, but you need the pak0.pk3 file from the game cd to actually run the game _________________ 95% of all computer errors occur between chair and keyboard (TM)
