hi guys
i'm a newbie with Gentoo, i tried to install reading the manual
i was thinking everything was allright, but after the installation of Grub, i have this error anytime i boot the computer:
Root-NFS: no NFS Server available, giving up
VFS: unable to mount root FS via NFS, Trying floppy
VFS: insert root floppy and press ENTER
i guess i'm missing something...but what?

There's likely an error message above that as well. You probably don't have the correct driver for your sata/ide chipset in the kernel, so the scripts tried to boot off of the network.
Without the entire message this is just speculation, though. |

you are try to boot a remote nfs root?
recheck the kernel command line (root= and real_root= if you have used genkernel) and the fstab _________________ scita et risus abundant in ore stultorum sed etiam semper severi insani sunt

Wrong sata driver+error in NFS config
it's fixed now ! thnx guys ! sometimes 2 eyes are not enough |
