I keep noticing HHGTTG-allusions all the time in "geeky" places (e.g. Slashdot, Gentoo Forums, ThinkGeek.com, etc.).
So now I want to know: How many people have actually read Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide To The Universe?

Actually, I just finished reading it on Monday. And I'm already halfway through "The Restaurant at the End of the Universe."
Wonderful stuff. Wish I had read it sooner! |

I got it on textz.com (in .txt format) a few years ago, along with all his other novels. Then I bought the whole HHGTTG serie in one big book on ThinkGeek. This is one of the most important book I've ever read in my life and I've read a lot of books. I got the Dirk Gently serie books this week, from Amazon. I recommend these to everyone who love funny absurd fiction. |

Oh yeah, Dirk Gentley (with or without e?) is great too... However, one thing I missed in those books were the characters from the Guide...
Also, has anyone seen any of the TV series produced in the 70's? They suck... Big time!

I've read all five books in the trilogy, and I've seen several of the TV shows on PBS... the shows were worse than the books, but the books were absolutely hilarious. |

It's "Gently". And I got the 70's series on DVD. I love it. I Also got the original radio show on mp3. Adams wrote the books after writing the radio script. I got it on 3 cds and I listen to it at least once a week. |

The answer IS of course 42. And this is a duplicate of an older poll. |
