Hi All:
I have just update expat, installed qt-3.3.8-r4 and got all of my KDE up to 3.5.8.
Updfated xine and xine-libs to the latest and that is all working.
I get this error when I do emerge gxine:
checking for XINE-LIB version >= 1.0.1...
*** 'xine-config --version' returned 1.1.10, but XINE (-1.-1717986919.-414920992)
*** was found! If xine-config was correct, then it is best
*** to remove the old version of XINE. You may also be able to fix the error
*** by modifying your LD_LIBRARY_PATH enviroment variable, or by editing
*** /etc/ld.so.conf. Make sure you have run ldconfig if that is
*** required on your system.
*** If xine-config was wrong, set the environment variable XINE_CONFIG
*** to point to the correct copy of xine-config, and remove the file config.cache
*** before re-running configure
no
configure: error: *** Please install xine-lib (devel) first ***
So, i unmerged xine-lib, remerged it and same error.
jerinkturion jserink # xine-config --version
1.1.10.1
I'm a bit lost on this one.
Cheers,

Either patch gxine (it is described in the bug I linked in my post above; in addition, the same problem exists for kdemultimedia - in the corresponding bug report, a patch for kdemultimedia is given; maybe you can adopt this patch for gxine), or use a xine version with only three numbers instead of four (for example xine-lib-1.1.10 instead of xine-lib-1.1.10.1). _________________ Never argue with an idiot. Actually, xine-lib version 1.1.10 also causes the same problem, at least it did with me. I downgraded to xine-lib 1.1.8, and it works perfectly...and apparently works perfectly with KDE, as I had to reemerge it due to some dependency problems that arose the last time I ran revdep-revbuild.
Blessed be!
