|
|
If i leave the mouse untouched for like less than 0.5 seconds, or a very short time, it stops sending signal to the usb dongle, and it has to be re-detected. This is quite annoying, specially since on average, you do pause for a while usually when using your mouse for browsing the internet, or doing a ton of other stuff. And after it goes to idle because of inactivity, it takes like 1 or 2 seconds to be re recognized, and to be able to be used again.
Anyway, If anyone knows how to augment the time before the mouse goes into idle mode, please help me.

yea. it's rechargeable, and it doesn't really matter if it is just recently charged or not.
In windows, it works, doesn't idle out. |

The relevant part of your kernel .config should look like this:- Code: | CONFIG_HID_SUPPORT=y
CONFIG_HID=m
# CONFIG_HID_DEBUG is not set
# CONFIG_HIDRAW is not set
#
# USB Input Devices
#
CONFIG_USB_HID=m
# CONFIG_USB_HIDINPUT_POWERBOOK is not set
# CONFIG_HID_FF is not set
# CONFIG_USB_HIDDEV is not set
#
# USB HID Boot Protocol drivers
#
# CONFIG_USB_KBD is not set
# CONFIG_USB_MOUSE is not set

oh. now that i check the lsusb, it may be good to mention that the dongle is on a 8 plug usb hub. I don't think that really matters tho.
Code: | Bus 002 Device 009: ID 045e:0714 Microsoft Corp.
Bus 002 Device 008: ID 045e:0717 Microsoft Corp.
Bus 002 Device 007: ID 045e:0707 Microsoft Corp.
|
i take it that there are 3 entries beacause 1 is for the dongle, 1 for the usb mouse, and 1 for the keyboard |

Just to eliminate the possibility could you try the mouse with out the hub and see is it any different? _________________ John Lewis IT Consultancy and Engineering

it doesn't idle out. but where i have the computer, i get lag. that is because it is quite far away from where i have the keyboard and mouse setup. :S
i didn't expect that. it doesn't happen in windows (the idleing out with the hub). :S |
