Hi all,
I haven't seen this problem before. I have had a google and searched the forums here but found no joy.
My mysql seems to have gone down, when I try to start / restart it I get the error back "mysql is still shutting down". So I'm unable to do anything.
ps -aux | grep -i mysql returns nothing.
Can anyone recommend anything? I would really like to get away without rebooting this system if I can.
Any help would be great!
Thanks very much,

Hi.
Run /etc/init.d/mysql zap and then try to start it again. _________________ Jorge.

Oh no... I rebooted literally 2 mins before you replied. It's all back up and running now.
zap maybe would have fixed it?
A quick google says that zap is a Gentoo thing?
Thanks for your reply!
