hi,
as the fact i have to completely clean my "full of issue a lot" gentoo2006.1-upgradedto-2007.1-dev, i have a little problem here
my octane2 is equipped with both gfx.impactSR and gfx.VPRO
(*) the first has to used as textconsole/X11 under gentoo
(*) the second is to be used in irix 'cause she has better performance while is not able to play X11 under gentoo
so, the last netbook kernel image i found around has been compiled to both support these 2 gfx ... i think minding a normal user either he chooses to have gfx.impactSR, or he chooses to have gfx.VPRO ...
well, I'm afraid I'm more than 2 miles far away from this scheme: I have both the GFXs in my hardware, and the kernel simply decides to panics after the first fb0 init
my request is:
1) could you please teach me how to build a netboot kernel ?
2) or, could you please build an other netbook kernel in where the gfx.VPRO kernel lines are removed ?
To save myself from the issues of having both GFX, I simply removed the gfx bay, then booting the machine through the serial console: i mean if something goes wrong with kernel &C i have the way to fix the jam, but it is so boring this way.
I'd like simply to netboot, mounting disks, and doing my fixup
thank you in advance if you could help me
