a bit of feedback for okular-4.0.80 too:
Code: |
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "app-doc/chmlib".
(dependency required by "kde-base/okular-4.0.80" [ebuild])
|
and no epub generator supported (requires ebook-tools package) _________________ Every day a new distro comes to birth. Every day a distro "eats" another.

"emerge -s chimlib" reveals a package dev-libs/chmlib, the changelog of that package says that is was moved from app-doc to dev-libs on May 13th. |

You have to emerge qt-sql to get it compile. |

Check portage.* files/directories in Documentation/portage/ of the overlay and symlink in /etc/portage/ |

If I edit the file
Code: | /var/tmp/portage/kde-base/kopete-4.0.80/work/kopete-4.0.80/kopete/protocols/telepathy/telepathyaddpendingcontactjob.cpp |
and comment out the line
Code: | using namespace Kopete::UI; |
it will compile fine with telepathy USE-Flag
Just for the information:
I can connect through my google talk account via telepathy.
I see the other users, can send message to them, but do not receive the answer in kopete (but I can see it in the terminal).
The gwenview error is caused by the kipi include. Now it is using KUrl and not KURL.
Perhaps the ebuild should block <=media-libs/libkipi-0.1.5 and depend on kde-base/libkipi.
So it works if you remove media-libs/libkipi and then build gwenview. _________________ --- sorry for the bad english ---

Hello everyone. This is not the first time I deal with overlays, but I'm quite stuck. So I want to try KDE 4.1 beta, and I install the kdesvn-portage overlay with layman. All is well. I try to install a package and Portage tells me it's masked both by package.mask and by missing keyword. Package.mask is to be expected (but apparently I'm not unmasking them properly in package.unmask) but howtos say I shouldn't have to deal with keywords since I have ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=~amd64. I took a look at an ebuild from the overlay and it has no slot information and no accept keywords at all. Code: | GNU nano 2.0.6 File: konsole-4.0.80.ebuild

What am I doing wrong? Could anyone kindly lead me by hand? Thanks. |

Please do NOT mix official HowTos (I guess, that you were talking about the KDE4 guide) with unofficial overlays, like this is.
Especially do NOT complain to anyone, if the guide didn't work, because there are things, that are different.
Thanks. |

Got it. I'll ignore the bit about accept keywords. Could you give me some help now? Thanks. |

Most alpha/beta or whatever ebuilds didn't use ~arch as keyword but **. So simply use
Code: | kde-base/kwin:kde-4.1 ** |
All this you can find in the Documentation folder of the overlay! |

Thank you. I completely missed the fact that the overlay folder included more than just ebuild files. I'll give it a try. |

Oh, I have seen that amarok-4.0.80 and k3b-4.0.80 depends on kdelibs-svn, not 4.0.80 ... Does amarok need only svn version ? o_O I think that in these reasons amarok-9999 will be better solution ... |

what's your setup? I'm running 64-bit, so maybe a problem with the arch. but dunno what's wrong with our systems specifically... |

anything weird?
--edit-- we're both on kernel 2.6.24, but surely a lot of others are as well..
--edit2-- I'm going through build utilities trying to find the problem here, upgraded cmake to a newer version but to no avail.
these unused parameter errors are annoying, but I didn't think they were fatal up until now. I wish I knew what I could do to resolve this issue. |
