after yesterday update fonts in my gdm and gnome are unreadable:

Well, to begin, what was it that you updated yesterday? Do you remember the specific updates you applied? (ie emerge updates, dispatch-conf/etc-update updates, etc. etc.) _________________

Or perhaps your video driver was updated. It definitely has the look of a video driver issue...perhaps even video device failure. Check /var/log/portage/elog to see what the last updates were. If your video driver was part of the update (and it probably was) move back one iteration and retry.

yesterday i make this merges:

sys-devel/libtool-2.2.4

x11-drivers/xf86-input-keyboard-1.3.1
sys-libs/glibc-2.8_p20080602
my gpu driver is:
x11-drivers/xf86-video-ati-6.8.0-r1 (radeon)
for:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility M7 LW [Radeon Mobility 7500]
card and it wasnt merge when this font problem apears
when i make new user bug apears only in few places, ie opera-9.5 menu, gdm is still unreadable
i had make emerge -DNavue world and it didnt help |

It could be freetype. Move back one version and see if that unties the knots.

yesterday i had gcc-4.3.2_**** when i try downgrade freetype and it doesnt help i try tomorow with gcc-4.3.1 maybe its problem with compiler
edit:
freetype is not the reason, now i have 2.3.5-r2 and bug is still apear |

2 days lost for trying repair this fonts and it was problem with pixman-0.11.4-r1 ;/ mention here: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=225843
IMHO closing bugs unresolved as upstream isnt good idea |
