|
|
Hello.
Since some versions of amarok (including the newest 1.4.10-r1) amarok sometimes forgets my complete collection after a reboot.
I have it installed with this use flags:
Code: |
media-sound/amarok-1.4.10-r1 USE="kde mp4 opengl python xinerama -amazon -daap -debug -ifp -ipod -mtp -musicbrainz -mysql -njb -postgres (-real) -visualization"
|
What could i do to fix this?
EDIT:
Could this have something ro do with sys-libs/db-4.6.21_p1?
Once there was another (slotted) version installed, which was removed by emerge --depclean. _________________ "Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous."

I recommend setting up mysql and using it as a backend - it should solve that problem and probably improve performance a bit as well. |

It worked a long time without mysql. I really don't want to install a full blown database. _________________ "Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous."

Hello,
I had the same problem. After a while, more and more songs diasppeared from the Amarok collection database and I had to rebuild the index (what need some hours on my collection). The same incident occures also with mysql as backend (but it will speed up amarock dramatically on a big collection ) )
My solution: now I use exaile... |

I also have that problem sometimes. But usually running
in a terminal fixes it for me. I'm using Amarok on Gnome so I figured that it might have something to do with starting services in the wrong oder (I have Amarok in startup) so that Amarok is up before sqlite is. |

Just look at it as another hint that you should use MPD instead... _________________ "Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves." - Abraham Lincoln

Har har
This is really nasty! It did not depend on something sys-apps/db related, as i now again have db-4.5 & db-4.6 installed (was pulled in by a recent world update).
The kdeinit hint did not work either but thanks anyway.
Asking for help in the Amarok-Forums didn' t also bring anything, that forum is SO dead...
The good thing is, my Core2Quad is incredibly fast in rebuilding my collection every day, so for now i refuse to look for alternatives. Btw. any alternative player should have the nice playlist features and the possibility of scoring like amarok. _________________ "Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous."
