I was re-emerging nvidia-kernel, but then it complained about needing MMTR (I think that was what it was called, or something similar having to do with memory registers), so I enabaled it in my kernel, recompiled my kernel, and rebooted. Now when I boot into my kernel with lilo the only output that I get is:
Code: |
boot:
Loading linux...........................
BIOS data check sucessful
Uncompressing Linux...
crc error
-- System halted
|
I can load the live cd and edit any necessary files, thankfully.
Please help me.
Edit: It's MTRR, not MMTR. |

yeah, for lilo, you need to update if you change the kernels at all, grub, you don't have to run. So did this fix your problem? I had a similar problem and if I just reset and loaded the kernel a 2nd time it always worked....go figure |
