Putroppo col kernel 2.6test5 mi viene restituito il seguente errore:

Il modulo Nvidia non e' compilabile. Assicurati pero' di caricarlo all'avvio :)

Mmmmmmm...non ce l'ho quel file...ho solo kernel-2.4 e kernel-2.5 (mi sà che devo crearlo a mano)
Comunque sia in

Non so a voi ma a me con il kernel 2.6 fungono solo gli nvidia-44XX e mi da pure un bruttissimo errore nel dmesg di conflitto con il pci (sk video integrata, nforce) e la cosa + comic che glxgears mi va a 12fps 8O 8O 8O invece dei soliti 600/700...
A voi come vanno?

a me vanno tutto ok, ankora danno problemi...

cmq per i driver della seria xxx.44xx sono gli unici che girano con il kernel 2.6 ....

con il kernel 2.6 funzionante (dato che per la serie 2.4 ce l'avevo già) e successivamente da console, prima di entrare in X, (come suggerito dall'immenso cerri) ho fatto un

modprobe nvidia
. Purtroppo mi viene restituito il seguente erroraccio:

Premetto che non ho ancora provato il kernel 2.6 e sono ancora un newbie di gentoo...

comunque prima di provare questa distro usavo suse, e quando mi ero ricompilato il kernel non andava più neanche a me il driver nvidia.
Come soluzione ho ricompilato il dirver (non mi ricordo se sia nvidia-kernel sia nvidia-glx o solo nvidia-kernel) e poi funzionava. Magari prova a ri-emergere entrambi i pacchetti..
Tieni presente anche che i drivers nvidia dovrebbero avere un problema di conflitto con una libreria, se non mi sbaglio con il file libGLU.so, magari anceh quello dà problemi, non so...

Ma la serie 2.6 non ha come symlink linux-beta? Io quando ho installato per la prima volta tale kernel (parlo sempre di gentoo ovviamente) mi sono trovato tale link, che mi pare anche abbastanza logico.
