PostPosted: Fri Jan 23, 2009 8:20 pm    Post subject: Creating a network bridge[solved] Reply with quote

One of my PCs have 2 network ports.
I want to bridge the 2 networks so i can have net on the other pc.
I have tried to follow the handbook but its not working for me.
I have installed the bridge-utils package but still doesn't work.

Here's my /etc/conf.d/net file.
Code:
brctl_br0=( "setfd 0" "sethello 0" "stp off" )
bridge_br0="eth0 eth1"

config_eth0=( "null" )
config_eth1=( "null" )
config_br0=( "192.168.1.20 netmask 255.255.255.0" )
routes_br0=( "default via 192.168.1.1" )

Please Help
Thanks

I guess you've created the right simlinks?

/etc/init.d/net.br0 linked to net.lo?

What does it do when you do
/etc/init.d/net.br0 start

Ok i found the problem
I didn't have bridging support enebaled in the kernel.
I enabled it and it works fine now.
