Hi. I recently did an emerge -uDNa world, to find that wireless had stopped working. The reason turned out to be that net-wireless/iwl3945-ucode had been upgraded to a version which does not support my current kernel, 2.6.28-gentoo-r1. I simply downgraded, masked the non working version (15.28.2.8 ) and emerged 15.28.1.8. Wireless then immediately started working again. After a reboot, however, knetworkmanager refuses to connect to my AP. It appears in the list of available APs, as normal, but I cannot connect. The connection works fine with Windows, however. Some system info..

Any ideas as to what might be happening here??

That's where I saw that I needed to downgrade iwl3945-ucode, which I have already done. In my case, after a downgrade, wireless came back, but after a reboot it is not functioning correctly. From what I see that was not the case with the original poster?
Thanks anyway _________________ # "Hmm, sounds like your system froze up."

If your wifi connection is a must, then downgrade your kernel to 2.6.27. |
