LDAP on Mozilla

I tried to add an LDAP server to Mozilla ( I verified the server works with Netscape 4) but am unable to. When I click OK to add the server nothing happens. No error msgs, nothing. I everntually click Cancel to get out of it.

Anyone else run into this issue know how to fix it?

do you actually have ldap in your USE env var ?
if not, I believe emerge gives --disable-ldap to configure...
