|
|
I updated HAL to the latest version in stable portage. Now, KDE will not automount my flash drives like it used to. I restarted HAL and DBUS, no luck. I reemerged kdebase-kioslaves, that didn't work either.
I noticed that the messages during emerge mentioned something about removing input sections from Xorg.conf. Does this have something to do with it? _________________ Athlon 64 x2 4000+, GA-M57SLI-S4 mobo, 2GB PC-6400 RAM, WD 500GB HDD SATA, Internet: eth0 cable modem. |

check your make.conf and activate elog messages save in a log, so you won't miss ewarning anymore with "emerge elogviewer"...
input messages might be a reference to udev and evdev handling keyboard/mouse
this are ones i get from hal-0.5.11-r4 Code: | LOG (postinst)
The HAL daemon needs to be running for certain applications to
work. Suggested is to add the init script to your start-up
scripts, this should be done like this :
`rc-update add hald default`
Looking for automounting support? Add yourself to the plugdev group
IF you have additional applications which consume ACPI events, you
should consider installing acpid to allow applications to share ACPI
events.
If you wish to use a non US layout, you may do so by executing:
setxkbmap <layout> or by utilizing your Desktop Environment's
Keyboard Layout Settings mechanism.
Under GNOME, this is gnome-keyboard-properties, and under KDE
it is kxkb.
In order have suspend/hibernate function with HAL or apps that use HAL
(such as gnome-power-manager), you should build HAL with the laptop
useflag which will install pm-utils.
X Input Hotplugging (if you build xorg-server with the HAL useflag)
reads user specific configuration from /etc/hal/fdi/policy/.
You should remove the Input sections from your xorg.conf once you have
migrated the rules to a HAL fdi file.

last, did you revdep-rebuild so programs link against your old hal are link against your new one (this is suggest for your kde problem) |
