Covered in the LXF of this month, looks like a great game

Here's my *ugly* ebuild for toribash. If someone has an idea how to impove it - PM me.

Gravity Bone, an opensource game based on Quake2 engine.
Is a short but really funny secret agent story, with a cartoon atmosphere.
Engine does not seem modified, so it shall work on linux.

This also needs an ebuild:
http://www.smokin-guns.net/ - a Western style total conversion of Quake 3

EDIT: Darn, corrosif was faster on this one ;)

Delete games-emulation/gens and replace it with Gens/GS.

There's a bug that would fit this (and similar) requests.

There's already sixth milestone of Gens/GS. Seems to work just fine except when trying to go full screen when OpenGL resolution > screen resolution == Gens/GS exits.

Heroes of Newerth:
http://heroesofnewerth.com/
Awesome Dota-style game.

The installer isn't publicly available yet however.
I asked on the beta forums if I'm allowed to share the installer or not, with people who are better suited to writing ebuilds :)

I was suggested to give a dev a beta invite :) So if anyone knows how to write ebuilds, and wants a key, let me know, and I'll fork one over as soon as I get one :)

How about Vega Strike? It was mentioned on the first page of this thread. 14 pages later and still no ebuild?

as it makes imho perfectly sense to search in the games-section for people wanting to help to create new game ebuilds,
here's a copy/paste of my now moved to unsupported software gamerlay thread ( https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-6206794.html#6206794 ):

gamerlay is an official overlay btw, means layman finds it with default configuration.

<snip>

In case you love playing native linux games on your gentoo, and would like to
contribute with creating and maintaining new ebuilds, feel free to visit our
#gentoo-gamerlay irc channel on freenode.
We already have a bunch of excellent games available,
but any help with making our gamerlay games overlay even bigger
is very welcome!
Also if you found a new game, which doesn't have an ebuild yet, and you
would like to help building one and, don't hesitate to contact and join us :)

Not directly related to the gamerlay overlay we also have a little
interesting-games-which-need-to-run-natively entry on piratepad:
http://piratepad.net/fvKKG1ef7K
if you found some interesting game you could also make a note there.

Moved from Gamers & Players to Unsupported Software.

The right place to request ebuilds it at bugs.gentoo.org.
To discuss user created ebuilds is unsupported software.

there are still some people left, who would like to contribute game ebuilds.
As almost every game ebuild proposal on bgo simply is ignored, gamerlay would be a nice solution.
Whoever ebuilds a new good game and wants to take part on a real community driven overlay, could easily join us.

For some very weird reason gamerlay is not even not supported officially, although it is an official overlay,
but instead even is blocked wherever possible.

Don't tell me that the gamerlay thread being offtopic was the reason to
move it into the best-place-to-not-being-noticed section
(I would understand this if it would make sense, but you could have supported our idea by simply not moving the thread...)

instead you even preferred to sacrifice an excellent 5 years old thread!
do the community a favor and move this thread back into games section and simply remove my posts...
I'm speaking just for me in this post, not for the whole gamerlay team.

JVGS http://jvgs.sourceforge.net/

JVGS is a free, minimalistic platform game that runs on windows, mac, linux and most other obscure systems out there. Some elements are loosely based on xkcd. The Ghosts album by Nine Inch Nails was chosen as soundtrack.

OHRRPGCE

(It has its own overlay, but most of the ebuilds in it are broken)
