|

After emerging new kgpg-3.5.9 - I've noticed that: names, emails from keys disappeared when I open kgpg.
When I open kgpg all keys are gone, when I click "restore" the the keys are showing up but the names, emails info is gone.
After re-emerging kgpg I've notice this note: Code: | * QA Notice: Unrecognized configure options:
*
* configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: --with-x, --enable-mitshm, --without-xinerama, --without-debug
* configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: --with-x, --enable-mitshm, --without-xinerama, --without-debug

could it have something to do with it?
In addition when I try to open it from the command line I get: Code: | $ kgpg

We're not alone: see bug 263454
The source of the problem appears to be that the gpg executable changed its output format, so kgpg is no longer able to parse it correctly. If you open a command line and type "gpg -k", you should see all your keys listed correctly.
One "solution" would be to add this line to your /etc/portage/package.mask file:
Code: | >=app-crypt/gnupg-2.0.10 |
Then, re-emerge gnupg:
This will downgrade your gnupg to version 2.0.9, but be aware that you'll need to remove the line from the package.mask file once kgpg has been corrected. |

Thanks, that also helped for kgpg 2.1.0 on kde 4.2.2. _________________ The message is Feierei, alder! The message is Gude Laune, alder! [Sven] |

It's fixed for version 4.2.3-r1, but looks like it won't be backported - the code is apparently very different. |

Now gpg-2.0.9 dissappeared from portage. What can I do now? Downgrade to a lower gpg version 1.x.x ? I would like to stay on the "stable" kde-3.5.10.

According to bug 263454, it appears that 2.0.9 can't even be built anymore because we are now missing the patch.
It appears that there are 2 possible solutions: downgrade gpg or use another gui.
As far as the KDE team is concerned, KDE4 has been stable for a while now, so fixing an out of date version is hardly a priority. As much as I like KGPG, I decided to use GPA instead, because I already have all the dependencies (as opposed to Seahorse). |

With KDE4 now stable, we can get back to using KGPG.
Anyone who had masked >GnuPG-2.0.9 and have upgraded to KDE4 can now remove that mask. |
