help patching grub for enabling AHCI mode on MacBooks

hi all,
after some fiddling with it, i think that i might ask for your help patching grub in order to enable AHCI mode for my MacBook.

i've already tried it with Debian, by following the instruction from the 1st link, it worked great, but the thing is that i'm *more comfortable* using Gentoo but the thing is that i couldn't figure out how to modify the grub ebuild making it patching grub..
any help is more than welcomed!

PS, back then, using EXT4, i got 116MB/s before the patch & 131MB/s with the patch (using hdparm -tT) using my 30GB OCZ Vertex SSD.
