IPHONE 3.0 and RNDIS Tethering

I have built and loaded the usb gadgets and rndis options kernel modules. The Iphone when set for tethering does not appear as rndis0 a device when I run IFCONFIG.

Has anyone been able to get tethering setup with the IPHONE 3.0 (I can get it running right away in XP).

It looks like there are a few people working on this but I haven't seen any
posts by gentoo users that have got it up and running.

Neither of them have successfully got tethering running yet but hopefully
