I've got a networking issue I believe I can solve with a kernel upgrade. However, without net access I can't just emerge gentoo-sources; I'll need to download the files separately then copy them over.
What files do I have to download & where do I need to put them in order to use emerge? Since it's stable for amd64, I'm hoping to get gentoo-sources-2.6.31-r6.
Thanks in advance.

If you want to go with gentoo-sources, you can
emerge -pf =gentoo-sources-2.6.31-r6
This will dump a list of all the URLs that it would download. Just grab them and dump them in /usr/portage/distfiles and it should emerge as if your machine was hooked up to the net.
Optionally you can get the straight kernels from kernel.org. These don't have Gentoo-specific hacks, YMMV. _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD
