emerging Evolution went without a hitch. But trying to run it under KDE3, I get :

Sad, I should be more adventerous.
All it took was to unmerge libpng and then emerge it again. I had tried 'clean' to remove the traces of the older edition, but to no avail.
So now Evolution starts .... |
