Did you update config files? Did you reboot? Whats the exact problem? _________________ Workstation: 5.1 SurroundSound, LIRC remote control; Laptop [IBM-T43]: patched sources, s2disk/ram, fingerprint sensor |

Yes, I rebooted and let portage update/replace the config files.
The problem is that I can add, edit, remove wifi connections in the network management part in the configuration panel but the network configurations are never used.
If I manually try to connect using cnetworkmanager, it works fine. However, when I run 'cnetworkmanager -u' (which should show all the wifi connections from KDE) I get this:
Code: | org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerUserSettings was not provided by any .service files |
So my guess is that KDE not really shares the network configurations with dbus and as such, NM never gets to read and use them...
Edit: I solved my problem by running 'find ~/.kde4 -iname "*network*"' and removing all files and folders relating to network manager. This means I lost all configurations for my wifi networks but at least I can use KDE again to auto-configure networks... _________________ More ramblings of a linux junky...

Can someone please take a look at this bug that I filed on bugzilla. It pertains to kwebkitpart.

I can't seem to get todo-list to compile under paludis, possibly due to this:
Code: |
/var/tmp/paludis/kde-misc-todo-list-0.4/temp/loadsaveenv: line 981: pushd: /var/tmp/paludis/kde-misc-todo-list-0.4/work/todo_plasmoid: No such file or directory
|
which leads to the error:
Code: |
* I was unable to locate CMakeLists.txt under:
* "/var/tmp/paludis/kde-misc-todo-list-0.4/work/todo_plasmoid/CMakeLists.txt"
* You should consider not inheriting the cmake eclass.

ideas?
Closed: Apparently paludis doesn't like files with a bz (not bz2) extension.... _________________ My emerge --info

I'm having an annoying problem with Kile(4.4.1). When I start to select big amounts of text, Kile starts to act slow. For example, if hold "shift" and press "down" to select some lines, it starts to get slow (I can release the key and Kile will still selecting lines for some seconds). That's pretty annoying when you work with Kile daily O.O
The funny thing is that it don't happen with kate or kwrite, which are supposed to use the same "core" (aren't them?) Anyone having any related issue? _________________ "Nolite arbitrari quia venerim mittere pacem in terram non veni pacem mittere sed gladium" (Yeshua Ha Mashiach) |

The Digikam-9999 ebuild in the kde overlay does not work anymore.
Digikam says during configure that

I think you need the libkdcraw from kde-4.5. Here's what Giles says on the user mailing list:
Quote: | talk with Mandriva team and it's fine to backport libkdcraw from
trunk if code is stable, before KDE 4.5 release date. I think the same
can be done with other linux distro. |

QT-4.7 doesn't seem to be a dependency. Anyway, kdepim-runtime-4.4.80.tar.bz2 is still nowhere to be found, so I can't jump ship right now. |

I've been playing with kde-live for the last week or so and most things work very well, except I've got a strange problem with kdm: the 'change session' and 'shutdown' buttons don't work. Nothing happens when I click on them.
Any ideas?
EDIT: I'm not the only one - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=239006 |

Ok, reading the announcement it turns out we won't see the kdepim suite for another month. Anyway, recognizing it as the bloody mess it currently is in 4.4.3 I'm just going to drop it then.
Currently, the only reliable action of akregator is:
Code: | Object::connect: No such signal Akregator::SubscriptionListView::signalDropped (KUrl::List &, Akregator::TreeNode*, Akregator::Folder*)
Object::connect: (sender name: 'feedtree')
Object::connect: (receiver name: 'akregator_view')
Object::connect: No such signal Akregator::Part::showPart()
Object::connect: (receiver name: 'akregator')
kontact(4133)/kdeui (kdelibs): No such XML file "/home/andreas/.kde4/share/apps/kontact/local-akregator.rc" |
...famous last words before killing off kontact. Hell yes, there is no such file, so what? Create it?? |

The announcement doesn't really say, but will Kmail 4.4 still work with KDE 4.5 until the new Kmail is ready? |
