Hi, it is a really small annoyance, but I believe that there are solutions there?
Basically I've got a MS Natural Ergonomic Wireless keyboard which don't have a Cap key indicator, I think they do provide a software in Windows to indicate/notify
when you pressed Cap Lock key. My question is: How could I do it in Gentoo/Gnome? |

You could try this one:
Code: | * gnome-extra/lock-keys-applet
Latest version available: 1.0
Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ]
Size of files: 272 kB
Homepage: http://mfcn.ilo.de/led_applet
Description: An applet that shows the status of your Caps, Num and Scroll Lock keys
License: GPL-2 |

Thank you Jimini, but it doesn't seems to work. Installed, and added it panel, didn't do any after I press Cap Lock or Num Lock.
The home are not there anymore, from Google search result, the last update was from 2003, so unless I can patch it, it probably
wouldn't support my keyboard. |

You can associate commands to keys using Gnome keybindings with Gconf Editor, Mabye it can be done also by using the xmodmap command to indicate you the Caps Lock event is on or off. xmodmap allow you to remap caracters to keycodes. I do it to disable Caps Lock key, but I never try to associate a command to a keycode using xmodmap. _________________ Paul |
