So I finally get a fix for getting the ati driver to compile, only to have xorg-server segfault.
I have tried to solve this on my own, but have run out of ideas on how to troubleshoot this issue.
When I try to run startx, my framebuffer gives out, and the machine becomes completely unresponsive. I am forced to reboot.
I have gone as far as removing xorg-server, all associated drivers, performing an emerge --sync, and reinstalling xorg-server, and the drivers for input as well as the radeon-ucode and ati-drivers-10.9-r1 package.
The symptoms have not changed, no matter what I have done. so I am thinking I am missing something.
