Some time ago I purchased a netbook with the Chinese Loongson processor, unfortunately it did not have the time to work with it as I intended, so now I want to give it away to someone is willing/able to support the MIPS team in Gentoo a bit more (not necessarily a Gentoo dev). As I paid 300€ about one year ago, I would give it away now for 100€ plus shipping. It had Gentoo running on it, but I wiped it, so only the shipped Debian is available. There is one free partition with 91GB. The specifications are:
Lemote Yeelong 8089 C with 1 GB RAM and 160 GB HD, power supply and battery included.
Everyone can apply either by email (fauli AT gentoo.org) or through posts here, I will choose on 01 Dec 2010 (if there is more than one applicant), give a reason why you want it. Shipping world-wide, but this may raise costs a lot.
EDIT: Maximum shipping cost in Europe range from 12,60 to about 30€, depending how far the country is away, world-wide can excess that of course.

I'd like to take it! I'm always looking for new MIPS toys; especially a 64bit one. |

Definitely interesting hardware. I do have a question about it for which i couldn't find the answer online:
Which resolutions are supported using the external VGA connections to a normal monitor ? I currently use 1024x768 (often beamers) and 1280x1024 (home) quite often. _________________ The gentoo way of bringing peace to the world:

So the laptop goes to Italy, thanks for your interest and I am sorry for not being able to provide hardware for everyone. |
