Alrighty....
I have asked this question on sf, but got no replies, so here we go....
I built enlightenment from the newest ebuild (enlightenment-0.16.5-r4.ebuild) and all of it's dependencies built without and problems at all. Yay, now I go to change a theme, and the enlightenment "clock cursor" appears while the theme changes, but never goes away, and the theme never changes. It's almost like E is stuck in an endless loop. The same thing happens when I restart E. After checking my configs, I decided to try a few things. I unmerged E and nuked all my configs.
After unpacking the source, I decided to compile it on my own, you know, might be an ebuild problem , after building and installing E, I tried the same tings that I had done before. Started up E, went inside..... changed a theme. THe same thing happened, so it's not the ebuild. I then exited with control-alt-backspace (woo!) and `make uninstalled` it.
Now, back to the ebuild....
I rebuild E and all of it's dependencies, and THEIR dependencies. Nothing seems to help at all... well, only one thing does. If I want to change a theme, I MUST clean all of E's caches, and then I am good for ONE theme change. Same goes for restarting. I feel this is either a problem with the cache, or some library I am not aware of.
Has anyone else had/solved this problem? Tis very anoying, eh?
Thanks for reading this, and any feedback you can provide. Thanks again _________________ =) |

I've had this problem too. When I changed a theme I had to Ctrl+Alt+BckSpc after a few seconds and reload E. I coudn't find a fix. Doesn't really matter now though. I"m happy with blackbox, much snappier than E was for me. _________________ =recluse= |
