I'm having problem:
I cannot start any applications in Gnome after I have successfully connected to a network.
So, before network manager have managed to connect, I can start all applications I want to.
But after I'm connected, all applications I start in Gnome won't start.
They try for like 4-5 seconds, with the cursor changing to an hour glass...then they just vanish.
And I mean all applications...I can't even start a terminal or gedit.
But if disconnect the Network-manager, I can start applications again.
Now, I have verified that I actually am connected,
by first starting firefox, then logging on(the reverse order won't work, as I've described), and then everything went fine.
Anyone have any idea how to solve this?
(If it's of any relevance, the connection I'm using is a wired connection with PEAP. |

I've found out that if I delete my HOSTNAME="localhost",
so that I don't specify a hostname for my computer, it works.
So there seems to be some problem with the hostname.
I find that after I connect, my localhost name changes to something regarding the connection I made.
I guess this somehow affects if I can start applications and not...
Whats the best way to fix this? |
