I am trying to get my flash memory sticks to get automounted on plug-in, and I used http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Autofs#UDEV this method. However, it seems to not work. I can not confirm if the rule file is working, but the very script for mounting is not. It doesn't get any errors. Could it have something to do with the fact that I didn't have the rule in any of my rule files in /etc/udev/rules.d/, so I created a file with this name and put the rule there?

I tried the autofs way, and after I wrote the config files and etc. according to the wiki, I can't get into the folders in order to check if the automounts are successful?! I can't change to them, everything behaves as if there are unprintable characters in their names (so they don't get recognized), but as far as I can see (and check) there is no such thing, any ideas on that? |

The directory name; anyway, this is not an issue anymore - I managed to do it with and udev script borrowed from here. |
