Every time I start up xfce, X goes into an infinite loop eating up all of my cpu power.

That is the strace log I created. I don't know what to do about it.
Thanks in advanced. _________________ You know you're a geek when...
you're whiling away some time in the computer department at your local store, spot a dialog box on the one of the laptops that calmly announces"Mcfee. Your computer is at risk",and totally get the unintended humor. |

I think I have same problem maybe.
I found that problem is in terminal (x11-terms/terminal). When it's running X eating about 90% cpu. |

I am checking that right now, because I am not running the version your running.
Did it also seem that X continued to eat all of that cpu even after you closed the terminal?
Holy . . . That solved it. Though when I move it around a little X goes up when I stop X demands less. I wonder what is going on here? _________________ You know you're a geek when...
