I am installing Gentoo (1.2) on my Sony Vaio PCG-GR390 (along with windoze nt 4 and windoze 2k). Got the base system, X, and kde compiled and installed (optimized). Using 2.4.19-gentoo-r5 with low-latancy and preemtive. Haveing trouble with the sound.
The sound works but has pauses in it, makeing it useless. Any one else using the GR390? If so what have/have not you got to work?

I tried acpi with the gentoo kernels, but it gave a boot error and locked up my computer (had to remove the battery from my laptop to turn it off). Tried to patch the kernel with the latest acpi patch, it gave all kinds of erros. I patched the vanalla 2.4.19 kernel with the latest acpi patch and sound now works fine. |
