WebM is VP8 video and Vorbis audio in a Matroska container.

ffmpeg. Or vpxenc (comes with libvpx) directly, then muxing with mkvtoolnix. |

If you just add the video to the HTML you will get just the video, it will start and then stop when it ends, with no controls to pause and so on.
To do more advanced stuff, like a youtube-style player, you need to use some javascript. Maybe you can have a look at Youtube's experimental HTML5 mode, the player is nearly identical, the only thing is you still can't do real fullscreen with HTML 5 yet.
There are many free players that you can just copy-paste the javascript in your page and they will work |
