Search for files with emerge?

Hi There,

I couldn't find a way to search for files that may be contained in any package of my portage tree using emerge. Is there a possibilite to do that? I found it to be very handy back then when I was using mandrake (urpmf) especially if my system was lacking one library file and I had no idea what the package name is that containes this one file...

It's not possible with portage, one reason I still visit rpmfind.net from time to time.

There have been talks about it but no real plans, the main reason is that there can only be an 80% solution as packages can contain different files depending on USE flags.
