As above I'm trying to install Gentoo on my new machine using the rescueCD
Typing the command Code: | chroot /mnt/gentoo /bin/bash |
gives the following error
Code: | chroot: failed to run command `/bin/bash': Exec format error |
Any ideas? Thanks! _________________ The United States has announced that it will deploy thoughts and prayers in the battle against online extremism.

gentooP4,
You have tried to mix a kernel and install with different bitness. i.e.32 and 64 bit.
Boot the 64 bit kernel from System Rescue CD if you need to chroot into a 64 bit install or the 32 bit kernel to rescure a 32 bit install. _________________ Regards,
