svensson.richard,

Tell us about your problem - a problem shared is a problem halved.

When does it happen?
What are the symptoms?
Any error messages?

Regards,

svensson.richard,

I know what your problem is and where to fix it but you will have to google for the details.

The flicker is caused by X drawing on the screen at the same time as it is being read out to refresh the screen. The fix for this is to invoke double buffering.

That won't quite fix the problem but it will make it much better. The system will now draw on one pixel buffer while it shows you the other one, however when it switches over, you will see the tear (or join). The fix for that is to make it switch in the vertical sync, when nothing is being drawn on the screen.

I haven't used the trident driver or the cyberbladei1 chipset, so the onlly thing I can add is that they will be options in XF86Config somewhere.

I added the following to my XF86Config

Section "Modules"
Load "dbe"
EndSection

(or something like that i am writing from memory)

so i think double buffer extension should be enabled now
but it changed VERY little

I have already checked that site, and they say that it should run, but it was not much info there.
