Hello,
I recently tried to build a very lightweight, "quasi-embedded" linux to turn my netbook into a single-purpose audio player. I came across the gentoo embedded project which offers portage profiles using uclibc instead of glibc. However, the profiles and accordings stage3 files are extremely old, and upgrading leads to tons of conflicts and compilation errors. There are various resources on the web which are more recent (e.g. http://www.anticore.org/ratgentoo/, http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/TinyGentoo) but they seem outdated as well. The situation for the ARM architecture is the same: The newest stages are from 2005.
So what's the state of gentoo embedded and uclibc? Is the project dead? _________________ "You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one." |
