| I usually just set the -pv option and then set the USE variables manually for each emerge at the commandline. I find this easier than 'guessing' my required USE flags and placing them in make.conf. |

That's also what I do, it really helps to organise my USE flags.
My USE flags are

Havn't changed mine... I never update a lot at a time and never install a lot at a time.
I use

| I printed out the USE flag listing from the use.desc file dated 12/29/2003. In the lists that have been posted I've noticed a few things that aren't list in use.desc. Is this nornal? |
