|

Hi,
I'm trying to configure my new Dell Optiplex 9020 system for multihead. I'm currently driving 2 monitors but I'm having trouble enabling the third screen. I see three screens in my GNOME Settings > Displays panel and my arandr output looks like it also sees the three screens properly. The two screens are driven by my Radeon HD 8570 card. I am trying to drive the third using the Intel HDMI slot. However, there is no output on the third screen.
Any thoughts or pointers to steer me in the right direction?

Do you have compositing enabled? This is required for PRIME to display correctly.
Although your xrandr output seems to indicate that both drivers are loaded correctly, verify with xrandr --listproviders that both intel and radeon are there. If necessary, do the xrandr --setprovideroutputsource step manually instead of relying on your desktop environment's autoconfiguration. |

thanks for the reply.
My GNOME version uses mutter for a compositing manager, it's enabled.
mutter --version
mutter 3.8.4
Output below from xrandr but still no display on the monitor...I've tried different monitors and cables but no success.
$ xrandr --listproviders

Provider 1: id: 0x47 cap: 0xb, Source Output, Sink Output, Sink Offload crtcs: 3 outputs: 5 associated providers: 1 name:Intel
$ xrandr --setprovideroutputsource 1 0
$ xrandr --output HDMI1 --auto --output DVI-0 --auto --right-of HDMI1 --output DisplayPort-0 --auto --right-of DVI-0 |

slight correction, I forgot to include one of the xrandr commands I'm using.
xrandr --setprovideroutputsource 1 0
xrandr --output HDMI1 --auto
xrandr --output HDMI1 --auto --output DVI-0 --auto --right-of HDMI1 --output DisplayPort-0 --auto --right-of DVI-0 |

Your configuration looks correct. You could try to upgrade xorg-server to 1.15 or the kernel to 3.13 to see if that helps. |
