|
|
I'm experiencing serious color problems while running kde (kde-3.1.4)
When, for instance, running xmms. The active xmms window has normal colors, but the inactive background turns into a candy shop. The background turns all pink and green (looks like some inverted colorfilter)
When using TWM this does not happen.
The problem is the same when using either "nv" or the installed "nvidia" in xfreeconfig
Did I overlook something while configuring? Or is this a kde bug
Does anyone know what to do ? |

Same here.
It also does this with gkrellm.
Sorry I have no idea why.
I can offer my setup for comparison though.
PII 350 160MB/RAM
Integrated ATI Rage Pro Turbo Agp (4MB?)
Whatever latest xfree version that came with the kde 3.1.3 emerge.
2.6 kernel although it did it with the 2.4.20 kernel too.
Do you know of any other programs that do this?
Any help would be appreciated. |

Could it be that you didn't set your colour depth in your xf86config? |

Yeah, and after all of my XFree problems in OpenBSD, I'm surprised I didn't think of that.
Worked like a charm.
Thank you very much.
Apparently others have been experiencing this too.
Code: | Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "Card0"
Monitor "Monitor0"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
|
And remember DefaultDepth belongs in the Screen section of your XF86Config.
