I am running kernel 3.12.13 and KDE 4.12. Dolphin now (since when I'm not exactly sure) NEVER refreshes its view when directory contents change. I have to hit F5 every time. I have seen descriptions of this problem linked to libnotify, but only with older kernel versions. Does anyone know what I could try? |

Kernels linked to the libnotify problem which affected Dolphin were 2.6 kernels. I haven't heard of any change in the 3.14 kernel over 3.12 that would resolve this problem. If there is, I'd love to know about it. |

Does Konqueror display the same behaviour? I start it from a "Konqueror Profiles" widget in Panel, to use File Management (as well as Midnight Commander), but you can also enter that mode with Settings -> Load View Profile.
If so, it's likely a bug in a shared kdelib (or Qt even); if not it's a Dolphin problem.
You can /join #gentoo-kde on IRC: chat.freenode.net for live support/help from users and developers. |

It seems to be just Dolphin. Konqueror and Krusader both update their views immediately. |

I'd search for/file a bug then. There may already be an upstream bug for it, you never know.
In passing, I've been a lot happier with KDE-4.x since I went back to using Konqui for file-management; much quicker, and much slicker, afaic. |
