I've just imported this great piece from my overlay into the tree.

I find that it's already quite playable.

The morrowind-data ebuild might not work as well as the upstream launcher which also allows you to extract the cdrom, but I prefer an in-house solution. So in case you hit trouble with the morrowind data, try the method via the launcher and file a gentoo bug.
