I am trying to merge 7 /etc/X11/ configuration files. I am at loss. Hear is an example of one

Generally speaking, you should accept the update unless you've changed the file. If it's something like fstab, then blindly accepting the updates *will* break your system, but for any file you haven't modified, accept the new version. |

if you look at the file you see that it says many times the same thing but in different languages... as typos may occur, they get corrected in the newer versions...
