G5 XServe Gentoo Fan Noise

I'm in the process of getting something setup on this G5 XServe that I pulled back into service. I'd like to use gentoo instead of FreeBSD, since I'm more familiar with Gentoo, however the fans not being able to PMU is driving me crazy! I tried looking for a pmu module to allow my fans to not run at full speed, but I couldn't find anything.

Am I missing something, or do I have to deal with it until I can get my kernel built?
