Hmm. There really is no directory /usr/src/linux-2.6.1-gentoo/arch/x86/ in the 2.6.1 kernel! Perhaps it should be "i386". Maybe you can get away by creating a symlink with the old name, pointing to the new dir?
Code: |
cd /usr/src/linux-2.6.1-gentoo/arch/
ln -s i386 x86
|
Good luck! |

I recommend you use Alsa that is provided to you in the kernel, just have to select the correct options to be compiled in, then emerge alsa-utils and alsa-lib and unmute your channels with alsamixer. Hope that helps. |

The emu10k1 ebuild does not work with 2.6.x kernels. To get sound working with a 2.6 kernel, you'll need to enable it in the kernel itself, either using ALSA or the deprecated OSS modules. |
